In a heart-stopping clash that had spectators on the edge of their seats, the long awaited return of an instant classic lived up to expectations. The scoreboard read 59-50 at the final whistle, as both teams showcased their offensive prowess in a high-scoring spectacle that will be remembered for years to come.
From the opening whistle, it was evident that this match was going to be a display of attacking brilliance. The first half saw both teams trading tries in a relentless back-and-forth affair. With the clock ticking down and the score very close, it was anyone's game. Bolton Rugby looked to control the game in the final 10 mins, grabbing a couple of tries putting them into the lead. They managed to hold off a final attack from the Old Bolts and cling on to the lead.
However, the game was just the beginning of the day for everyone. It was great to see so many former players turn up, both playing and spectating. The clubhouse remained full for hours after the game with many people catching up and many stories being shared about previous years! The weekend was a great success, with everyone involved having a great time!
