Apologies for the lack of a 1st XV match report this weekend....

Saturday's fixture against Wigton was postponed due to circumstances outside of both clubs control.

The referee society had provided an exchange referee from Newcastle for the fixture who was unfortunately caught up in a traffic jam near Scotch Corner and had been for some time. The official kept in touch with Wigton officials and at 2:30 had still not moved and it was agreed that the fixture had to be postponed. This was disappointing news to both sides who had named strong sides and with perfect conditions and an immaculate pitch beckoning a real shame to all supporters, local and travelling.

The fixture has now been rearranged for Saturday 21st January - a day which will likely yield less than the perfect conditions that were on offer at weekend.

Our thanks go to Wigton who allowed Bolton to hold a short training session at their venue before joining the side in the clubhouse for a beer or 3 before the long journey home.

Particular thanks go from our travelling support - Compost Corner - to Alan Lynch et al for their excellent hospitality throughout the day.
