Trafford MV visit Avenue Street

For many years, Trafford MV had been a bogey team for Bolton, but the last meeting between the two sides in Bolton’s promotion campaign of 2012/2013 resulted in a resounding 50-5 win for the Cherry and Whites away from home. That day, Matthew Parrish secured an outstanding hat-trick that all but secured Bolton’s place in the promotion play off against Silloth.

Since then, Trafford have continued to knock on the door to NL/C but have missed out narrowly until last season when they secured the league title with 22 wins from their 24 fixtures. Since their step up though, they appear to have failed to cope with the increased physicality and pace that the NL/C league has to offer collecting just 2 wins from their 7 games. However, two recent losses have come by just a single point and Trafford have been able to push some good sides to the very end.

Bolton will be cheered on by a number of this season’s sponsors who will be along for the first of our two annual sponsors days. Dave Crouch will be hoping to build on last weekend’s away win at Aldwinians and continue his form at home with another win.

Aldwinians job doesn’t get any easier as they travel to De La Salle. The Salford outfit appear to be realising their potential this season with an extremely strong start with just one loss to their names. At home they will fancy themselves to claim the full 5 on offer and keep the pressure on Fleetwood at the top.

Hawcoat Park must try and rebuild after their heavy defeat at Aspatria when they host league leaders Fleetwood. With such a big loss in the back of their minds, the last thing they need to see is the green and gold of Fleetwood opposite. However, at home Hawcoat are a different side altogether and can topple any side they come up against and Fleetwood have a record of stumbling around this time in the season, however, it seems like that won’t be the case this time around.

Oldham bounced back after their loss at Aspatria, but failed to win when De La Salle came to town. This weekend they travel to Littleborough in a bid to get back to winning ways against a side that have held their own so far with close losses to the bigger sides and some strong showings against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Carlisle head west to challenge lowly Silloth. Given both sides current form, it’s hard to see past a win for the away team this weekend.

Upper Eden became the first team to register a loss against Workington this season and with Aspatria the visitors this weekend, it may be another tick in the loss column for the Gravediggers who have failed to live up to their name so far.

Workington must travel to Wigton after their bonus point win finally got them back into a positive points position in the league table. A trip to Wigton will be the last thing they want to do, with Wigton boasting some new signings this season that seem to be having a positive impact so far.
