Bolton U13s vs Fylde
Rugby Lesson today
After last week's big cup win away at Ormskirk, Bolton's under 13 boys fancied their chances with home advantage in the next round against Fylde . However, from the off the visitors showed why they are the favourites to win this competition and why they have not been beaten in over two seasons with a near perfect display of attacking passing play coupled with a ruthless efficiency in the breakdown.
Bolton found themselves two tries down early on and it was a blow to their confidence that they struggled to recover from. Cameron Halliday, returning from serious injury helped bolster the pack and win a fair share of the scrums, but the defensive organisation of Fylde snuffed out almost all Bolton's attacks before they could get any momentum. There was good effort put in again from Mark Glynn Oliver Keogh and Ben Price in the backs, and it was Keogh that helped to salvage some Bolton pride with a late try which also maintained his record of having scored in every match this season.
It will be a measure of this team's character to see how they fare against another strong team, Sedgeley Park next week.
Final score Fylde 30 Bolton 5
