AKA Rochdale strikes back
On this penultimate weekend of the year, Bolton under 13's supported their friends at Dukinfield who hosted an open tournament as the centre piece of their community open day but came away empty handed.
Bolton first played the impressive Vale of Lune side who dazzled with their passing flair and the outstanding skill of their talented number eight. Although Bolton managed two tries through Ben Price, Vale of Lune were good value for their seven try haul.
It was a similar story against a Lymm side who triumphed through great organisation and teamwork, although the two best tries went to Bolton through Price and Leon Hodson.
The final game was against old rivals Rochdale and by half time, Bolton had built a commanding 15-5 lead through Price and Hodson again and through the reliable Oliver Keogh. After the break Keogh scored again and Bolton began to relax and let Rochdale back into the match. The away side scored two before Connor Whittle powered for Bolton over to make the score 35-15. From there Rochdale scored the next four tries before Price scored a consolation with the last play of the game to bring his tally for the day to five.
