Bolton travelled to play Wythenshawe RUFC, a newly formed community club with a mixed U12 / U13s development team.
Having lots of players away due to other commitments Bolton cobbled together a team with several players playing out of position and Scott Gillibrand (U12) volunteered to play for the opposition to make up the numbers.
From the kick off Bolton forwards pressed and after some forceful mauling quick ball was thrown out to Ben Price who sniped in after 3 minutes. 1-0
Wythenshawe decided to receive the kick off and eith the ball in their half the forwards dominated the mauls, with several players taking the ball into contact. Short steady yardage was made up the field drawing in their defence eventually Connor Whittle spotted a gap and drove over the line from a short distance after 6 minutes. 2-0
Wythenshawe rallied and tried pressing Bolton from the kick off but the pack held firm. When Bolton won the ball it was quickly shifted to the backs to make ground and after 12 minutes Connor Whittle was on hand to score his second. 3-0
The forwards dominated again with several players putting in some good tackles, keeping the opposition on their own line creating a panic situation. The ball was fumbled in the try area and Ben Price was there to dive on the ball for his second try. 14 minutes gone 4-0

Wythenshawe kicked off and retained the ball the player tried making a break but Oliver Keogh tackling him and held him up. Sam Atherton was quickly there in support and skilfully ripped the ball from the opposition player before turning defence into attack with the try of the day as he ran through the opposition pack and ran over 60 yards for his first try 16 minutes gone 5-0
Bolton kicked off and Wythenshawe spilled the ball Oliver Keogh was able to steal loose ball to nip over for his first try19 minutes gone. 6-0
Straight from the kick off the ball was spilled again and Bolton drove straight over creating quick ball for the scrum half Keogh to score his second try 21 minutes Bolton lead 7-0 at half time.

Wythenshawe kicked off the second half and started to make inroads into Bolton's half but solid defence and quick rucking from Connor Whittle and Levi Waite gave an opportunity for Luke Davis to go an several long carries one of which deep into the opposition half resulted in Keogh nipping around the ruck for his 3rd try 31 minutes 8-0
From the kick off the ball went to Price who made some yardage before passing to Sam Atherton who added to the distance as he was tackled Keogh in support took the ball over for his 4th try 33 minutes.9-0
Wythenshawe kicked off Bolton caught and quickly recycled the ball giving it to Ben Price who ran round the opposition from distance for his 3rd try 35 Minutes 10-0
Wythenshawe kept going with attack after attack but Bolton's strong defence held out and after several passages of good handling Ben Price went over for his fourth try 40minutes 11-0

Bolton kicked off and after some decent backs handling Sam Atherton went over for his second try 42 minutes 12-0
This was repeated straight from the resulting kick off and Sam getting his 3rd try on 43 minutes 13-0

The game ended and we have to give a big shout out to Wythenshawe for sticking at it being such a new team, they have some competent players and will improve with further game time.

Simon Halliday needs a shout for stepping in to ref and doing it so well
