Wigan u13 35 v Bolton u13 5

Bolton already knew about 6 missing players but when a further 4 dropped out on the day things did not look good. Training injuries, school rugby injuries, norovirus and hangovers saw 7 regular starters missing - that is more than half the team.
A massively re-arranged line up, with more new pairings for the 5th week running, saw Bolton start well. Jack Good's imaginative kick-off put immediate pressure on Wigan and drives by Louie Ramm and Evan Dare led to Loiue going over in the 2nd minute. That was as good as it got, Wigan replied immediately when Bolton failed to deal with the kick-off.
Wigan then proceeded to keep the scoreboard ticking over, Bolton not helped when Jack came off injured with 'interesting' stud marks on his chest. When the subs started coming off injured Bolton knew the game was up.
The rules of the Waterfall call for matches to be stopped at a 30 point difference, though they can be continued as 'friendlies'. Wigan duly hit the mark after 22 mins, the match was halted, re-started and Bolton immediately scored!
Sadly this was the last time they troubled the scorers as Wigan ran in try after try. After a dispiriting day the final nail was that the after match food was hot-dogs & chips. Going to Wigan and no pies, what is the world coming to?
