A morale boosting win and a chance to give everyone some match time.

After a series of losses, which have had more to do with injuries and the bizarre rules of some of the competitions, Bolton finally chalked up a win.
The conditions were perfect, the pitches are in superb nick for January, there was no breeze and the sun came out to keep the spectators warm. Tyldesley had a couple of late withdrawals, so the match was played as 11 a side, Bolton had 17 available so swapped half a team at each quarter and made each team as equal as possible.
Bolton got off to a flying start when Louie Ramm appeared to take on the entire Tyldesley team, evaded every attempted tackle and went in for a superb solo try. Tyldesley came back at Bolton and scored a practically identical try, smashing their way through some very indifferent Bolton tackling. The next 18 mins were fascinating with both sides playing well but each butchering tries due to 'white line fever', Bolton winning that competition when they dropped the ball 5 mtrs out with a 4 man overlap. In the final move of the half Ben Hammond found Louie who went in at the corner to make the half time score 10-5.
The second half saw Bolton struggle to exert any pressure as new pairings were tried. Eventually Tyldesley took a leaf out of Louie's book and a storming run saw them pull the scores level. As the match moved into the final quarter and with the regular half back pairing of Jack Good & Henry Ainscough on, they took the game by the scruff of the neck, managing possesion superbly and bring wave after wave of fresher Bolton players into play, whilst often confusing the opposition by swapping position. Everyone played their part, the breakdown was much better, tackling was superb and it was only a matter of time before they scored.
Louie went in after 14 & 16 mins, both teams then had a try dis-allowed for incorrect grounding. Evan Dare - who made some storming runs in this quarter - finally crossed after 20 mins. With Tyldesley making a final spirited attempt to cross the Bolton line a spilt ball was pounced on by Jack, flicked to Henry who found Josh Bentley Hughes, this time he grounded the ball correctly for a final score of 30-10.
