With several regulars missing the Under 10’s called on the Under 9’s for assistance and they kindly lent us 3 players being Harry, Joseph and Dylan.
Rossendale were a similar size to their local rivals Blackburn last week so good tackling was going to be the order of the day.
Bolton started the sharper team passing the ball well amongst themselves and soon opened the scoring with Under 9’s player Dylan crossing the whitewash.
Bolton created all the openings using the ball well, which in turn created spaces for them to exploit.
Oliver Crompton then scored for the home team and it seemed Bolton were on fire.
Two further tries for the home team by James Preston and Josh Grundy meant that at the break Bolton were 4 tries to 2 up.
The second half was a separate matter however. Rossendale grew in confidence and Bolton failed to support their runners and Rossendale started to not only turnover the ball but started to win Bolton’s scrums as well.
The game eventually finished off 4-7 to Rossendale.
This was definitely a game of two halves Bolton winning the first and Rossendale piling on the pressure in the second.
Well done to the Under 9’s for stepping up to the mark, they all played well.
