Tyldesley Under 11's 21 v 26 Bolton Under 11's

Tyldesley under 11’s entertained Bolton on a windswept pitch but remarkably the pitch surface was excellent.
Maybe in years to come Bolton may have a similar drainage system in place where the home teams would be able to fulfil their fixtures.
This was definitely a game of two halves, Bolton dominated the first half and Tyldesley dominated the second. Two well matched teams fought for the right result but it was Bolton who just pipped Tyldesley to seal the game. A draw would probably have been a fair result.
Bolton was stronger in the first half dominating the ‘ruck’ ball and re-cycling well. They found themselves a try up after only two minutes when Alex Ramwell dived over the line for the opener.
Zak Grundy managed the conversion to make the score 0-7.
On 3 minutes after Bolton pressure Josh Grundy got a rare but well deserved try which Zak failed to convert, I am sure that Josh will remind Zak of this throughout the rest of the day.
Bolton then let Tyldesley back in with a defensive error who scored and converted the try.
The score stayed at 7-12 until just before half when Milo Holmes fought his way over the try line which was duly converted by Zak.
Half time whistle and Bolton were dominant in the first half. Ben Turner produced some excellent tackles, James Preston and Matty Moore made some solid runs. Reece Townsend tackled well against bigger opposition.
The whole team were a credit.
In the second half Tyldesley began to believe in themselves and started to come back at Bolton. Some great carries by their big forwards started to penetrate the Bolton defence.
New player Tom Crook took to the field and began immediately to get involved.
With 11 minutes played in the second half, all their pressure paid off.
A converted try by the home side made the score 14-19. Alex Ramwell thought he had scored a well worked try down the left wing but unfortunately he ran too far carrying the ball dead and over the line out of play.
Soon after Tyldesley crossed the ‘whitewash’ yet again giving them the lead 21-19.
Several players began to go down with injuries which prolonged the second half beyond its 20 minutes. The game could have gone either way but in the final minute Alex went over for his second try and this time he grounded it in the right place. Final Score 21-26.
A great game by two well matched teams every player on the pitch gave it their all in both sides.
Alex Ramwell carried off the ‘Player of the match’ award.
