A depleted Bolton U11's side travelled to Southport. With Ben Turner and Oliver Crompton missing and Josh Grundy feeling under the weather it was going to a tough day at the office against a Southport side boasting a squad of 26 players.
Bolton started slowly and within 5 minutes were two tries down which were easily converted by the Southport kicker.
Bolton started to get back in the game with some good rucking and handling skills but by half time they were 3 converted tries to nil down.
Bolton managed there first try of the game when Alex Ramwell powered over for a try which was converted by Zak Grundy. Milo Holmes was playing every position there was and Reece Townsend in at Hooker had a brilliant game in the loose. Southport scored a fourth try to seal the game 28-7.However the score did not reflect the game which was equally well fought between the two teams.
Player of the match award went to Milo Holmes (Pictured), but worthy of a mention is Tom Crook playing only his second game is gaining in confidence and should prove to be a good prospect.
