Under 11's Match Report 10th April 2011

The under 11’s turned up at Rossendale to play much to the surprise of the home team who had no idea they were playing us.

Bolton had only 9 players and Rossendale only had 8 so it was going to be 8 v 8.

It was decided to play two 20-minute matches bearing in mind Rossendale were not quite prepared with several of their players missing due to the Easter break.

On a wide pitch Bolton immediately took the upper hand.

After 7 minutes Bolton were three tries up courtesy of Alex Ramwell. Zak Grundy converted all three.

Alex was on fire fighting for every ball in the rucks and mauls.

Rossendale scored a well worked try in reply but Alex got two more tries on 12 and 15 minutes to take his tally to 5 until he was substituted on his dad’s request because it was costing too much money. Zak managed to convert one of the two tries.

Zak Grundy scored a try on 17 minutes which he converted himself.

Rossendale managed another try which they converted making the final score of the first match Rossendale 14 v 40 Bolton.

A massive improvement from the team with excellent tackling from Josh and Zak Grundy and Ben Turner who chased everything and everyone.

The second game was similar to the first. Bolton scored 5 tries with no reply with Zak managing to convert 2 of the tries. Try scorers were Zak Grundy (1 Min), Tom Crook (3 mins first ever try for the club) Olicer Crompton (8 Minutes). Alex Ramwell (12 and 14 Mins). Zak managed to convert 2 tries. Final score Rossendale 0 v 30* Bolton.

Bolton were excellent in attack and defence which hopefully they will be able to copy next week at the Preston Grasshoppers Tournament.
