Bolton Victorious Against Rossendale

We started brightly. Debutants Gareth Pritchard and Alex Temple both showed promise. Will valentine collected a kick and skinned his opposite number for a fine try. Bolton impressed as the backs repeatedly looked to move the ball wide. An opportunistic quick tap in our own 22 resulted in Ben smith running the length of the field to score.

Some good play at the end of the half led to a good try for Nathan Stansfield. 17-0 at HT.

In the 2nd half Rossendale fought back and their forwards dominated possession. They scored 2 good tries. As Bolton tired a succession of infringements lead to wave after wave of Rossendale attacks. To our credit the tackling never wavered and the lads held out to claim the result.

Plenty to work on in practise re sustaining our play, retreating 10 yards and line-out play but all in all a good win against a tough side who will trouble many teams this year.
