Blackpool just missed out in the vase final last year and are an improving side. Bolton looked to develop some phases before going to the backs whereas Blackpool, despite missing their usual 10, looked to spread the ball to their pacy backs at every opportunity
However both defences were aware of the other sides tactics and an attritional game resulted.
Ben Smith came close a couple of times for Bolton but frustratingly we couldnt quite combine well enough in the final phase
Half time 0-0
The 2nd half continued with attritional play. However a Will Doyle drive and Matthew Robinson kick got us close to their line and after a series of mauls Connor Hilton crashed over for his first ever try.
Blackpool raised a late rally with a series of attacks in the Bolton 22 however the defence held out with Piers Crowther prominent.
This was a hard fought league game at a venue where teams will struggle to claim points
Finally a big thanks to sall the subs in this team effort. David Armstrong made his debut and scrummaged strongly
Final score Blackpool 0-7 Bolton
