Elvis Majanja brings a ray of sunshine to what was a miserable day

Bolton travelled to Heaton Moor for this re-arranged fixture after it transpired that Colne and Nelson did not have a side. Bolton were complacent from the very beginning, something was strangely missing from the team which seemed to last for the whole game.
Heaton Moor were turning the ball over from the visitors, Bolton's handling was a miss they were unable to string passes together and before long Heaton Moor took advantage of their weak play to open the scoring. 5 v 0.
This didn't appear to wake the visitors up and their dismal play continued, Moor pushed the Bolton pack off the ball in the scrums, although they didn't appear to have a much larger pack.
The only ray of sunshine was Elvis Majanja playing on the wing who was able to stop Moors secret weapon. Had he not done so then Moor would have been 3 tries up in the first 15 minutes.
Bolton began to fair a little better and after some forward pressure Alex Greenhalgh crashed over for a try which was converted by James Evans. 5 v 12. Just before half time Ben Turner chipped ahead for Zak Grundy to chase and the ball bounced perfectly for him and he ran all the way under the posts unchallenged. At half time the score was 5 v 12 to Bolton.
Several changes were made at half time with Tom Crook going back to prop, James McDowell coming on for Milo Holmes, Zak Grundy retiring with a knee injury, forcing Josh Grundy back into the centres and Tom Knight-Rigler out on the wing. Luis Jones came on at flanker along with Thomas Duckworth.
Almost immediately Moor scored in the second half making the score 10 v 12. Tom Crook replied to make the score 10 v 17.
Bolton took their foot off the gas towards the end of the game allowing Moor to score twice leaving the final score at 22 v 17 to the home side.
Bolton had completely under estimated the Moor team and paid the price for complacency, poor tackling, wrong decision making and not protecting the ball.
If they turn up next Sunday with a similar attitude they will be comprehensively beaten.
Elvis Majanja won both the best players award and the best tackler award. He saved the team from what could have been a very embarrassing scoreline. Heaton Moor were the better team on the day and fully deserved their win.
