Bolton reverse the result from earlier in the season with two tries by Owen Patel

Bolton u15's welcomed Heaton Moor to Avenue Street for this friendly fixture.
After a minutes silence in respect of all of those who have fallen fighting for our country the game kicked off.

Bolton played the same team several weeks ago in a re arranged fixture and came out losers.

Playing at home with a full squad they were determined to turn that result around.

Both teams battled for supremacy in the opening quarter but it was Bolton who scored first with a great run from Josh Grundy who fought his way to the line to score.

Heaton Moor not to be outdone replied within 5 minutes to score under the posts and convert the try 5 v 7. the two teams were evenly matched with Heaton Moor winning the battle at the rucks with the 'Jackal' Tom there captain turning over the Bolton ball.

Soon Bolton scored again with Milo Holmes playing out of position saw the gap and went over the whitewash to score which James Evans converted. 12-7

Bolton's pressure in the Heaton Moor 22 led to a penalty which James Evans slotted leaving the score at 15-7 to Bolton at half time.

At half time Bolton made changes to the team, Ben Turner came on at fly half, Abdullah Hussein came on at prop forward for his first ever competitive game.

Bolton took the upper hand in the second half and started to boss the rucks stopping the Heaton Moor forwards from turning the ball over as they did in the first half with great effect.

Pressure in the Heaton Moor 22 saw Owen Patel making a break for the inside shoulder to score under the opposition posts. Ben Turner converted the try. 22-7

Heaton Moor not to be outdone replied with a score and the conversion attempt just fell short of the posts 22-12.

With 10 minutes to go the game could have swung either way but Owen Patel who was playing the best game of his season so far backed himself and saw the space with no defence and again went under the posts to score making the conversion easy for Ben Turner to convert. 29-12

Heaton Moor weren't out of it yet and rallied round but just ran of time and the final score was 29-12.

A great game with two evenly matched sides, I am sure Heaton Moor will be looking forward to Bolton returning to them next year for a home game.

Trophy awards went to Most contribution Owen Patel, tackling went to Tom Crook and best player went to Zak Grundy who not only won the trophy but unfortunately broke his collar bone.

Best wishes from the team to a swift recovery to Zak.
