Bolton U15’s extended their 100 percent record in the Lancashire Junior challenge and with a solid win at Home to Aldwinians to stay top of their group..
Bolton opened the scoring in the first minute with a spectacular try from Josh Moore, bursting down an impossibly narrow channel on the right and shrugging off two challenges to touch over. The lead was doubled after seven minutes when flanker Fred Holt-Gregson scored, and both tries were converted by the ever reliable boot of Ben Price.
The Aldwinian pack has three big and fast runners who were able to find space and power through the middle to halve the deficit on ten minutes. Bolton’s response was swift and executed through the strength and speed of top scorer Leon Hodson finding space down the left to run in near the posts. Just three minutes later, Hodson got his second ,profiting from good work from Price to finish off the move well.
Four minutes from the break, Aldwinians ran through the middle once more , only for Bolton to restore the lead through scrum half Sam McDowell picking the ball from the ruck near the try line and gleefully scoring. Price converted for Bolton to go into 5e break with a nineteen point lead.
In recent matches, Bolton have been slow to get into their stride after the restart , but not this time as they stepped in the gas. Josh Moore got his second try after great work from Harry McDermott and Holt Gregson also got his brace. Aldwinians got a consolation try that had a hint of offside about it, before Bolton workhorse Oliver Keogh got a well deserved solo try at the death.
Bolton return to the cup in January keen to finish the league stage with a perfect record.
