Again the set plays were causing havoc to the well supported home side with the Bolton backs finding much space to attack. The final pass was again missing so when Brogan saw a gulf of space on the blind side he scampered through to score in the corner from some 30 metres. The kick was missed.
A series of poor decisions led to several penalties from the home side, which saw two kicked.
Bolton then scored a penalty just before half time to see a frantic paced half finish 8-6 to the cherry and whites.
The second half into the wind started in a scrappy fashion. Bolton found much space out wide, but the defence out wide always made the last ditch tackle count.
Hawcoat park scored a well worked try near to the goal that was converted through a series of mauls and quick balls. Bolton kicked a further penalty through Lovgreen to go ahead 10- 13, and with Broadie influential in the wide areas, Bolton looked like the team to score on several occasions.
Unfortunately a series of poor decisions by the away team and the official, allowed Hawcoat back into the Bolton 22 with the last few minutes remaining first a penalty for off side was well kicked, and a penalty was awarded and then kicked with the final play for an infringement at the breakdown.
Bolton can again take much from the performance and attacking rugby that was played. Unfortunately the final score of 16-13, flattered the home side.
