Banks and Parrish yellow carded as Bolton 2nds take the honours

Bolton started this game with a much changed back line, including 3 forwards. The Bolton pack got off to a strong start with some excellent running from Matthew 'Moon Face' Parrish. The forwards set up some good rolling mauls and made some excellent yards enabling Tony 'Bionic Knee' McLaughlin. Bolton without a kicker today failed to add on the extras. From the restart Bolton again gave away too many silly penalties and piled pressure on themselves for a spell but the defence held strong and withstood the vale attacks. Vale missed a opportunity to take 3 points from a penalty. Bolton then began to gain control and the backs began to run well and make yards. Vale gave away a penalty in front of the posts which was slotted by Thomas 'Should have gone to Specsavers' Relph. Some strong running from Shane ‘Lynch’ O’Sullivan and Ryan 'finally picked on the wing' Wignall gave good field position. From a scrum Al 'The saviour' Catherall linked with David 'Rape Face' Ormes working an overlap to put Ryan 'Bamboogy' Wignall in the corner, with Bolton missing the conversion. Leaving a half time score of 13-0.

At Half time JP 'The silver back panda' Hardman made way for Stu 'The mere cat' Evans putting Ryan Wignall into his unfavoured position prop. Tony 'the knee' McLaughlin made way for Dave 'The unintentional undercut' Evans.

After the restart Vale came out strongly and started to use some of their bigger runners. Bolton's indisclipine saw a few penalties given in the Bolton 22. After several warnings for Bolton's foul play in the ruck area, the referee gave a penalty try and sin binned Wayne 'The Oompa Loompa' Banks to Vale who converted from under the posts to bring the score to 13-7. Nicholas 'The fat twin' Sandbrook moved into scrum half. From the restart Bolton commanded possession with a succession of powerful forward running. The ball was sent blind on Vales 5 metre line to Ryan 'Im the fastest prop in the club' Wignall who linked with Manny 'I'm the 2nd fastest prop in the club' Tailor to score in the corner, the conversion was missed.

After the restart Matthew 'Pot calling kettle fat' Parrish managed to get carded again against Vale for leading with the forearm, leaving Bolton with 13. Despite the lack of numbers Bolton continued to control the game. Banks returned to the field and marked his return with a darting run before a quick ruck to allow Al 'The try stealer' Catherall to dive over for a trademark snipe under the posts. Thomas 'I can kick' Relph to slot the extras.

In the final ten minutes, Bolton's continuous hard running and possesion had taken its toll on Vale and Bolton's backs linked well and found large holes in the Vale defence allowing a debut try for Shane 'I didn't buy a jug' O’Sullivan and tries for Pete 'I'm not past it yet' Marriott and Matt 'The thirds don't want me' Vickers. Thomas 'I told you i can kick' Relph converted these final 2 tries giving Bolton a well deserved victory. Final Score 44-7.

Tries - Tony McLaughlin, Ryan Wignall, Manesh Tailor, Al Catherall, Shane Sullivan, Pete Marriott, Matt Vickers.
