Kirkby kicked off and Bolton started slowly allowing Kirkby to put them under pressure.
Bolton defended well and started to play much better with Louis Critchlow and Matthew Parrish once again spearheading Bolton’s attack.
The first half belonged to Bolton as they dominated lineouts and forced Kirkby to play from their own half. Their performance was rewarded when Thomas Relph chipped over and chased his own kick to dive on the ball over the line. The conversion kicked by Danny Barlow.
Bolton were forced into a couple of changes through injuries to prop Manny Tailor and Captain Nick Sandbrook, who were replaced by JP and Jay Cheetham.

The second half started brightly as both teams tried to gain control of the game.
Kirkby kicked well into corners putting Bolton under pressure and got some luck with the bounce and forced a few mistakes allowing their backs to run 4 tries in quick succession. Score now 24-7.
Bolton began a fight back late on and had a few chances to score but failed to give the pass when required. Bolton managed to score late on as Dave Evans showed his hands working an overlap well to allow Thomas Relph to score in the corner. Final Score 24-12.
