The injury was made worse by a late tackle from Rick ‘I actually lasted 80 minutes without breaking anything although I did do a few stupid girly stretches throughout the game to pretend I was injured’ Sandbrook.
Thankfully for the rest of the Bolton team, Sandbrook was sent to the bin for this challenge and Vale had to play with 14 men.
Vale had already managed to kick 2 penalties giving them a 6 point lead. Bolton found their rhythm late on in the first half and forced the away side to start killing ball at the breakdown. As Bolton attacked the Vale try line, continued offences forced the ref into giving a penalty try. Conversion kicked by Thomas "Top of the second team knock on statistics table" Relph.
Half Time Score 7-6.
The second half started brightly for Bolton controlling possession and forcing Vale to concede many more penalties. This led to a Vale player being binned. Bolton capitalised on the extra man with a try from Paul "The rest of the second team think I'm called Peter" Sutcliffe, converted Relph.
Bolton scored another following good support play from Gage and Kully with Relph finishing off the try and adding the extras. Gage finished off the try scoring giving a full time score of 26-6.
