This week’s report is a dedication to Pete Marriot’s 75m break away try he scored this weekend:
He’s walking in the air, he’s floating in a moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as Pete’s flies
He’s holding very tight, he’s riding in a midnight blue
Pete’s finding he can fly, so high above with you
Far across Leigh’s line, the villages go by like trees
The rivers and the hills, the forests and the ginger streams
Supporters gaze open mouth, taken by surprise
Nobody in Leigh believes their eyes
Pete was surfing in the air, he is swimming in the frozen sky
He was drifting over ice, mountains floating by
Suddenly swooping low in the showers deep
Arousing of a mighty monster called Pete the Meat
Marriot was walking in the air, he was floating in a midnight sky
And everyone who sees him, greets him as he flies
I'm holding very, holding very tight, I'm riding on the Meat wagon
I'm finding Pete can fly, so please just believe its true.
