Saturday 16th November 2013 – “Under the sea”
First of all...on behalf of Bolton 2nd XV and all the player’s we wish Jim Sharples a speedy recovery.
......................................
A spirited Bolton 2nd XV defensive display wasn’t enough to hold out a strong Blackburn outfit who have an awful lot of new players this season and seemed to get the rub of the green with some refereeing decisions, but overall they were a better attacking side on the day.
A MOTM performance from local snow leopard Tom Lee and Josh Richardson / Mike Singleton tries weren’t enough in what was the best game of rugby that involved Bolton this year. Bolton take a lot from the game and to keep the spirits high this week’s report is a song:
The seaweed wasn’t always greener
In Blackburn RUFC’s lake
You dream winning like last year up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the bodies around you
Right here on the Lancastrian floor
Such wounded animals surround you
What more are you lookin' for?
Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from Singy the Dingy
On the Blackburn shore Bolton worked all day
Out in the wind they slaved away
While we devotin'
Singy was floatin'
Under the sea
Down here Richardson’s try made us happy
As off through the waves they roll
But Mark Townsend emptied his nappy
He sad’ coz he didn’t see Relph the mole
But the reunion mole is lucky
They in for a worse fate
One day when Big Geoff get hungry
Guess who's gon' be on the plate
Under the sea
Under the sea
Blackburn they beat us
Fried us and ate us
In fricassee
We what Marriott loves to cook
In the second half we almost off the hook
We got no troubles
2nd XV Life is the bubbles
Under the sea
Under the sea
Since our defence was sweet here
We got the beat here
Unnaturally
Even the Tom Lee sturgeon an' the Manny
They get the urge 'n' pass to Jay
We got the spirit
You got to hear it
Under the sea
The Fred West Crow can play the flute
When Wignall is sharp he plays the harp
At Avenue plaice we’ll play the bass
And we’ll be soundin' sharp
When captain Keech will play the brass
The Turner chub can play the tub
Earle is the duke of soul
(Yeah)
Yeah Jay he can play
Chris Slings on the strings
The Terry trout was rockin' out
The Gay Mike fish she sings
The smelt and the sprat
They know where it's at
An' oh that blowfish blow
Under the sea
U
nder the sea
When the Bolton sardine
Play as a team
It's music to me
What do Blackburn got? Some good hand(s)
Well we got a hot crustacean band
Each little slam here
know how to jam here
Under the sea
Each little slug here
Cuttin' some rugger here
Under the sea
Each little Bolton snail here
Know how to wail here
That's why it's hotter
In the Avenue Street water
Ya we in luck here
Down in the muck here
Under the sea
