With missing players returning to play, Bolton could have expected to put up some spirited resistance to the leagues top point scorers. However, from the off, it was clear that millom had come to rack up the points.
Their continuity and support play would have shamed many first teams. Disappointing tackling from Bolton allowed the visitors to open the scoring early on and to add a further 4 tries before half time.
A rousing team talk by captain Keith Howie, told the players exactly what he thought of the performance so far! The second half was a much better showing.
Two players scored their first tries for the club, firstly Eamonn “high five” McCartan dived over in the right hand corner following a good spell of play in the Millom 22. Then James “baby face” Hall crossed in the left hand corner as Bolton’s backs spun the ball wide to beat the Millom defence.
Millom replied with a couple of their own tries and as the game drew to a close they crossed the line for their final try.
