An unexpected result

With a full squad of 23 players Bolton were raring to go, but minutes before kick off we’re told that we can’t use them all, so 3 players have to be ‘requested’ to stand down. With a bit of a reshuffle, the game starts with some unhappy regulars on the sidelines.
Early pressure on the Chorley line is repelled, but a couple of high-ish tackles lead to a penalty in front of the posts – missed !

Good turnover ball, Rory Biggins passes out to backs, a grubber thru and Matty Robinson wins the foot race, 7 – 10
Strong Chorley running leaves them deep in the Bolton 22, the clearance is made, but a charge down on bolton line gives Chorley their 3rd try, 7 – 17
A late try in the corner in the closing minutes seals it for Chorley, 7 – 22
A very disappointing result given the previous weeks ferocious tackling and determination.
