Bolton lent them 2 players to make up numbers, however the game was played with uncontested scrums which didn't allow us to take full advantage of our squad.
The tight game was a hard fought encounter with the Burnley 'old heads' preventing the younger Bolton pack from playing open rugby. However when Bolton managed to get the ball wide there was reward to be gained.
A 5 try haul including 2 easy run overs from Mark Down after he had been released into space by fly-half Towler. Debutant Geoff Earle stretched for the line for his try after good support play thru the middle of the field.
Neil Carlisle was on hand to kick and chase after Bolton had broken thru again in the centres. A further try was added by OByrne. Carlisle potted all 5 between the sticks.
Good support play throughout by the forwards, but the game lacked the crisp edge it had the week before against Preston.
