The first half saw Bury use their advantage in the forwards to pin Bolton back in their half but the defence held up and Bolton began to grow in confidence and take the game back down the pitch. The first half ended with Bolton one man down after direction from the Referee but they still held out Bury’s attack into the second period when the sin bin expired.
Finally in the second half Bury took advantage of a single defensive error and scored out on the wing. Unconverted at 0-5 the game was still on. Captain Kelly rallied the Bolton side and after getting the ball into the wide space on the flanks a blistering run by Almond resulted in Bolton’s score to bring it to 5-5. Where it remained until the final whistle.
Another great game between two sides who will always put a 110% into every encounter between them; a few injuries and bruises but a game that each team will remember and learn from.
