It was a gorgeous day up in Littleborough, but slightly frozen pitches at Rakewood Road caused an hour delay before kick-off. However that didn’t affect Bolton’s determination to win this cup qualifier.
Bolton showed their strengths right from the off, winning the majority of scrums and lineouts, and Tyler Corless was soon to cross the line, smashing his way through Littleborough’s defence.
Great passing from the U16s assisted Luke Murrie to score a similar try not long after, with Nathan Felton Converting both tries. Bolton’s defending was outstanding whilst trying to keep Littleborough off the scoreboard, however, the home side managed to get two tries either side of half time; only converting one.
Excellent individual tries from Patrick O’Brien and Idris Abbasi, and a well taken penalty from Nathan Felton sealed the win for Bolton, earning them a home tie against Oldham on the 4th of March.
