Forwards dominate game

The Cherry and Whites ruthless forwards dominated this game with a fantastic display of teamwork. Losing a 2nd row forward in the warm-up Bolton again had a reshuffled lineup. Dom Hardy stepping into the number 9 position for the first time this season controlled the set pieces from the start and it was from a ruck that Alex Tonge broke Sedgley tackles and went over for the first try.
Bolton continued to control the game being aggressive in the tackles and at the breakdown. Joe Mackey and Brandon Booth putting in some big hits to give the Cherry and Whites fastball from a ruck, Dom Hardy feeding Jake Ryan who used his electric pace to skip past the Sedgley defenders and score under the posts.Alex Tonge grabbed another try after some great counter rucking from the Bolton pack and some weak tackling from the visitors.
The 4th try started deep in Boltons half with a switched pass allowing Jack Byrne to race down the pitch. Desperate tackling from Sedgely stopped the number 12 from scoring but setup a platform from which James Holland produced an audacious kick over the defence which Jordan Griffiths pounced on. Bolton were in no mood to ease up on the visitors.
The forwards of Dylan Heywood, Ollie Thompson,Joe McHugh and Ben Knowles were crashing into the Sedlgey defence and it wasn' long before the physicality paid off with Ollie Thompson picking the ball and grabbing the 5th try.
Sedgley started to make progress towards the end of the first half but Bolton held out for a 29-0 half time score.
The second half saw Sedgley start the brighter and they had a good passage of play resulting in a try scored in the corner. Bolton came straight back at them with another buldozing try from Alex Tonge. Injury to Dom Hardy from a collision with his own second row forward saw winger Nat May move to scrum half and Bolton saw out the match comfortably winning 36-5.
