A three way with Tarleton and Orrell started with a strong run by Bolton's Sean Carragher to drive over the line, only for Sean to drop the ball and Orrell cleared the line to pressurise the Bolton line and score in the corner.
The Bolton boys rallied strongly and Myles Garth, Tom McNulty and Joseph Cropper caused mayhem as they attacked the Orrell back-line in search of a score. Orrell's constant kicking played into Boltons hands as Jake Rimmer and Tom McNulty were steady in defence and returned the ball with interest. Eventually the unstoppable Myles and the dynamic Lewis Picton smashed through the Orrell defence to give the bolton boys a close but well deserved win 14 points to 7.
New boys Josh Podmore and Joe Webster slotted in well, with Joe winning some good ball on the deck and Josh using his size and strength to make large in-roads to the Orrell pack.
The last game was against the hosts Tarleton, and the boys were faced with a back to back match against a rested side. This time great distribution from Alastair Harris at scrum half released Myles to break his way through to score. A slight lull in Bolton's concentration enabled Tarleton to pull a try back with some weak defence causing a few quiet words from the coach. The Bolton pack who were smaller in size but stronger all round upped the pressure on Tarleton and Alastair, Jake, Lewis and Tom Platt punched holes in Tarleton's defence and feeding the ball well to release Myles for three more tries. A further try came from Joseph in the corner to win the game at 35-7. Jake Rimmer kicked all the goals, and Josh was man of the match for a great performance on his rugby debut.
