Under 14's match report 13th March 2011

Bolton hosted Southport this week in a friendly; we had full squad with 5 subs ready for action, Southport started the game but right from the start Bolton dominated, the forwards drove some good balls up to the Southport line making them panic and knocking the ball into touch, Bolton took advantage and went straight to their big pack, where David Davenport picked up from their number 8 and driving over the line for Bolton’s first try.
Bolton took over the running but Southport got a lucky break, and made a fast run down the wing to get their first try, this made Bolton stand up again and they got their heads back on and made some fantastic forward runs by Liam Austen, Bolton powered through Southport’s defence, with a great pass from George smith to Karl Fullen in which he hit the white wash.
Southport hit straight back at Bolton getting another a try, which meant them going to half time in the lead.

After few choice words and refreshing oranges Bolton started the second half firing on all cylinders, Bolton pinned Southport within their 22 for a good 10 minutes , then from nowhere Louis Townsend picked up the ball from the ruck, powered his way through Southport’s centres to score his try.
Joseph Kusnyer again had us on pins twice in the game as he made a massive run, with the white line in sight, only to be tackled out of play right at the corner, Bolton continued to dominated the game with Jack Robinson hitting some good leg tackles.
Louis Townsend as hooker won all the scrums, which helped Cameron Barber, drive through Southport’s defence to get his try.
