Bolton RUFC End of Season Presentation Night

Bolton RUFC End of Season Presentation Night

Jill Rowbotham20 May - 14:52

Congratulations to all the winners!

Last Saturday Bolton RUFC’s annual senior presentation night took place, hosted by Ben Cottam (Senior Chair and current first team Captain) and Paul Leigh (current Club Treasurer and first team player). A wonderful occasion as usual, the food was provided by Spice Valley, a sponsor to players and the teams at Bolton rugby club, and was exquisite. Many players from different teams were in attendance with partners joining them, all dressed to the 9s in their best outfits (with maybe a couple of outliers).

After finishing up their food, the awards were handed out. Josh Holmes took home Player’s Player of the Season and Coaches Player. Ross Hayden capped off his first season as player coach winning the Man of Steel Award chosen by the opposition teams each week. Tom Platt also took home two awards, winning Compost Corner's Player of the Season and Most Improved Player. After a very strong debut season from current Junior Chair Jacob Collinson, he managed to walk away with the Young Player of the season. Morgan Smith won trainer of the season but unfortunately was not in attendance on the night, and finally Jack Robinson won Player of the Season. 2nd XV awards were handed out next with both awards going to a father son duo, Ollie Keogh won 2nd XV Player’s Player of the Season with his father Derrick Keogh winning 2nd XV Player of the Season.

The night was full of games as Paul Leigh hosted many games of play your cards right, before the night was capped off by a beautiful music set from current Vice Captain and on field captain for most of the season Jonny Wallis.

It's been a solid season for Bolton RUFC’s senior section building the foundations to improve on next year.
