A muddy afternoon for the Buccaneers!

Colwyn Bay Stingrays MAR 39
Bolton Buccaneers 29

This weekend the Buccaneers travelled over to North Wales to play our good friends Colwyn Bay Stingrays MAR.

After a warm welcome by our brilliant hosts, both teams were briefed to avoid the three lakes on the pitch and set about getting a game on.

The game was tight and hard fought with the conditions making flowing rugby difficult. However both sides managed to play some good rugby at times and treated the assembled spectators with a great entertaining game. The game was fairly even throughout and Stingrays just edged it in the last period with two great tries.

As ever - it was the camaraderie between both sides that was the winner - a game played in a hugely positive spirit. Every single player came off the pitch with a muddy face and a huge smile.

The Buccaneers made the most of their trip and fully quenched their thirst in a packed Colwyn Bay clubhouse for presentations and to watch the 6 Nations games.

Again a huge thank you to our amazing hosts who warmly welcomed us and looked after everyone all day. We can’t wait for the return fixture back in Bolton.

Bolton try scorers: Matthew Brennan 2, Karl Jacques, Daniel Doyle & James Broxton
Cons: Matthew Brennan & Russ Walton
