Bolton Amazons produced a dominant display to secure a convincing 30*–5 victory over Aldwinians, combining sustained pressure, sharp attacking play, and committed defence throughout the match.
Bolton started strongly, applying lots of early pressure which eventually paid off when Jasmine crashed over from short range. The try was converted to give Bolton an early lead.
From the restart, Tulisha made a fabulous run, breaking the defensive line. After a quick recycle, the ball was moved swiftly to Beatrice, who showed great pace to score from halfway and extend Bolton’s advantage.
Bolton continued to control the game with a nice passage of play, backed up by strong tackling from Tulisha and Jasmine, preventing Aldwinians from building any momentum.
Following a reset scrum, Bolton executed a well-worked move, with Eloise linking up with Jasmine, who made a strong run and went under the posts to score. The conversion was added to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Bolton’s pressure told again when Beatrice reacted quickest at the ruck, picking up and driving under the posts for another try, which was also converted.
The second half began with Aldwinians enjoying a lot of possession. However, a great break from Angel created space, eventually setting up Tulisha to score and further extend the lead.
Strong running from Jasmine saw her cross the line once again under the posts, adding another converted try to cap an impressive performance.
Aldwinians did manage to get on the scoreboard with a solitary try, but Bolton remained firmly in control. A standout moment came with a brilliant long-range effort from Lucy V, showing pace and determination to score. Excellent strong defence from Holly then forced a turnover, and from the resulting play, Lucy V crossed for her first try of the match.
It was a comprehensive team performance from Bolton Amazons, who demonstrated strength in defence, creativity in attack, and consistency across the park to secure a well-deserved 30*–5 victory.
