Bolton travelled to Trafford for this NGN Fixture. Trafford are considered our sister club with all the girls friendly with ours.

Trafford are a very strong team to break down with some very strong runners.

Bolton girls were first to score after Iona B broke through the line on the right hand side and showed a clean pair of heels to race in for the first try. Iona converted her own try to make the score 0-7.

Bolton's defence was holding out after wave after wave of Trafford pressure. Iona found some space and again another jinking run towards the line saw Betty W on her shoulder and a little pop pass put Betty over the line to score Bolton's second unconverted try. 0-12.

Trafford were not to be beaten and sustained pressure on the Bolton line led to a try under the posts which they converted. Half time 7-12.

Not quite sure what the Trafford coach Andy P said to the girls at half time but they came out 'guns blazing'. They were managing to secure ball after ball from the contact area and Bolton started to lose their own ball in the lineout at times. Trafford were soon back on the score sheet but Megan H, who has just joined the Amazons, was fed the ball from Iona after another jinking run, ran the length of the field from just inside her own half to score under the posts. Score 19-17 to the home team.

Bolton's defence was holding out and sustained pressure on the Bolton line by the powerful Trafford forwards was abated. Charlotte S was playing at her best with big tackles and strong runs. New girl Libby B was thrown in at the deep end in the front row and is a fantastic asset to the Amazons.

Bolton's defence held out and the star of the game Aisha A, who was playing her last game for the club, picked the ball up twice in the second half and fought off several attempts to tackle her before she ran the whole length of the field down the right hand side to score.
The whole team, parents and coaching staff are sad to see her leave but wish her and her family well on their move to Scotland. Not forgetting Hamza, Aisha's brother, who has been the Amazon's faithful water and tee carrier.

Final score 19-29.
