New Defibrillator Installed - thanks to Bolton Orthopaedics

The new life-saving defibrillator is now installed in the gym area.

The team at Bolton Orthopaedics have kindly donated a defibrillator to Bolton Rugby Club.

Situated in the club’s gym which is also next to the pitches, this vital piece of equipment could prove to be life-saving. The chances of someone surviving a cardiac arrest increases from 6% to 74% if a shock is delivered in the first 3-5 minutes of a person collapsing.

Sue Merrifield, Practice Manager of Bolton Orthopaedics commented ‘We’re delighted to be supporting Bolton Rugby. The quick use of defibrillators is vital and as a sponsor of Bolton Rugby we wanted to help ensure anyone who is playing at the club has a fighting chance of survival should the very worst happen.’

Les Towler, Club Captain of Bolton Rugby Club stated ‘We’re really thankful for the kind support Bolton Orthopaedics have shown in helping us acquire an additional defibrillator. It’s a generous donation and we are delighted to have it.’
