A brilliant team performance

Bolton U9’s made the short journey to Preston Grasshoppers for a 3 way with Southport.

Preston had 3 teams and Southport 1, so was decided we would play 4 10 minute games

Game 1 against PGH started brightly for Bolton with 2 early tries, this continued as Bolton made light work of Prestons attacks, with some Solid tackling from Louis Ramm, Drew Armistead and Liam Worswick.
Not to be outdone Robert Jones-Grady, Matthew Phillips, Luke Parry and Finley Rennie putting in some sterling tackles, forcing error upon error from Preston.

1st game Final score 6 - 1

Second game continued where the first left off with Joe Robinson putting in some scything runs, again excellent defence work and hounding by Bolton turning over play after play, and Louie “battering” Ramm breaking down the Preston defence with his trademark runs straight at the heart of it. Jamie Nuttall Callum Purnell and Noah Greenwood dominated the middle of the field spreading the ball effectively.

A couple of handling errors by Bolton letting Preston into the game momentarily, but superior play saw Bolton run out 6 - 2 victors.

3rd Game against Preston saw a tougher game, made all the tougher by the Preston Coach/referee being slightly biased…

Preston ran out 3-1 victors, on a game marred by Preston continually failing to retreat after tackling and Bolton being penalised for the doing the same. Again the defence was solid with a spectacular flying try saving tackle by Liam Worswick. With Preston failing to drop back, this did not allow Bolton to move the ball around as in the 2 previous games.

4th Game against Southport

Bolton started off brightly, with Louie Ramm scoring a try with 3 Southport players hanging off him for his 20 yard run!!

In a similar vein to the first 2 games, tenacious tackling by Bolton limited Southports attacks.

Final score 5-2

An excellent team effort by Bolton with all 11 players putting in a solid shift, its getting harder and harder picking a man of the match such is the effort everyone is putting in.
In the end the Man of the match award this week went to Louie Ramm.

Tries came from Louie Ramm, Drew Armistead, Callum Purnell, Noah Greenwood, Liam Worswick and Finlay Rennie.
