Bolton u12 girls hosted Trafford MV on Sunday for their first match as an u12's girls team.

Bolton had 8 players available and Trafford arrived with 9 players. Erin Shaw unfortunately had to pull out of the game with tonsillitis the evening before. The team wishes her speedy recovery

Bolton started the stronger of the teams with immediately getting on the score sheet with Iona Barnes and Eilidh Burns running in some great tries.

Bolton's defence was working well with Betty Weall and Holly Turner putting in some great tackles to stop the advancing Metrovick girls.

A well worked switch move by Eilidh and Holly just outside Bolton's try line saw Holly run the length of the pitch after some great stepping

Felicity Redford had some great runs at the Trafford defence with multiple defenders hanging on. Felicity got on the score sheet after one such run.

Phillipa Irving, Bridget Stone and Eve Barrow grew in confidence as the game progressed. Eve getting on the score sheet with two well taken tries. In the third quarter Trafford began to grow in confidence and scored some very good tries. But Bolton held on to take the win.

Try scorers were Iona, Eilidh, Holly, Eve, Felicity and Betty. Iona picked up the player of the match award chosen by the Trafford coaching staff.

Fantastic game by our Bolton girls to beat a very strong Trafford side. Well done.
