This weekend Bolton welcome De La Salle for the second time already this season. The previous fixture being in the opening round of the cup, a game which Bolton ran our eventual winners 10-3 despite missing several key players and handing out 4 debuts with two of those coming from our Senior Colts side. Testament to the faith that Bolton holds in it's junior section.
Coach Nick Holmes has been handed the good news that second row Louis Critchlow is available for selection after scans this week proved that the suspected broken tibia was indeed just a bruise... Bolton are still without Niall Murphy, the sole try score back in September, who remains on the injury list following the game against Silloth.
Prior to this seasons cup fixture it was the 12/13 season that these two teams last met, with Bolton managing to take the points both home and away in two close fought encounters. No doubt this Saturdays game will bring more of the same as Bolton continue their challenge on the top of the table and De La Salle do everything they can to prevent it and move above Bolton into 3rd. The Della team appear to be back to full fitness after their coach crash some weeks ago and moved up two places with a home win over Hawcoat Park in the game that was postponed due to the accident, making this game a crucial one for both sides in their bids to move up the league. Bolton welcome back Alex Miller to Avenue Street who will be around with his video camera to add to the excellent work that he has already done for both our junior section and for the 1st XV against Silloth. You can watch the videos here if you haven't already seen them.
