Following a disappointing result last week at Leigh, Bolton named a changed team welcoming back Sam Smith, Rhys Pritchard & Jack Robinson into the back line. Luke Bagnall also had a superb first team debut with a cracking game at prop against a strong opposition pack. Luke grew into the game causing problems alongside a new look front row with Tom Crook and Rory Biggins.
A well drilled Anselmians side were stronger on the day, but Bolton will be pleased with the improvement of sharpness in attack and the intensity in defence. Jack Robinson took a well worked quick tap and go try and Louis Critchlow got off the mark with a trademark barrelling short yard drive and score.
Louis also led some superb individual performances, putting in a number of crunching tackles across the pitch. Rhys brought some electricity and velocity to the back line, and the back 3 of Joseph, Smith & Steele dealt well with a disciplined Anselmians kicking strategy.
