Bolton came out strongly in the wet greasy conditions forcing the Fleetwood side backwards early on. However a recurring theme began to emerge from the Bolton side who gave numerous penalties throughout the day giving Fleetwood plenty of yards and penalties under the posts.
Bolton were having a few teething problems and struggled to keep possession at the ruck. The Bolton lineout on the other hand operated a little more successfully managing to drive Fleetwood backwards on a few occasions. Fleetwood bit back and capitalised on their first half possession running in 2 tries, converting one and kicking 2 penalties.
The second half started in a similar way to the first with Fleetwood having most of possession but Bolton battled back in the second half being a little more expansive and testing Fleetwood's defence. But the home side kept their cool and were rewarded with a well worked try to leave the final score 25-0.
