The game was closely contested with every once of energy being left on the field by both teams. Several players did decide to take an additional break with in total 4 yellow cards dotted throughout the game. The first one for Kenny after 5 minutes who “just needed time to get my second wind!”.
Warrington ran hard throughout the game and strong tackling led by the skipper aided by the marauding Ash Cooper kept Bolton in the game. The breakdown was keenly contested, and it was at a ruck that a skirmish broke out and Vice Captain Paz, who was nowhere near the scene of the crime, gasped to the ref “I started it, yellow card me so I can have a break…”
The supporters getting a tad frustrated with the standard of the game on the first team pitch were seen to turn and watch this hard fought contest and were delighted to see Jonny Stansfield gliding about the park, with no hint of a strained hamstring in sight. The Pack drove hard through some good pick and go’s, accompanied by strong running through Mark Bolton, Paul Leigh & Paz
Manny, Jolly, Jonny & Ash scored the try’s throughout the game with Kenny converting 3. The game was on a knife edge with Bolton leading 26-20 in the last few minutes but managed to hold out to take the win
