AKA The muddy one

Storm Ciara disrupted plans last week and Storm Dennis threatened to put a stop to rugby today but following what seemed like constant rain for two week so I was surprised when the call came through to say that the match was still on at North Manchester but was pleased that the team would get it run out. The weather cleared for the duration of the match, it was still 'windy' and the the pitch was very soft with some small patches of standing water. The conditions dictated the way the match was played, slow and heavy with multiple handling errors. North Manchester only had 11 players and so 4 volunteers from Bolton played the whole match for them.

The match was played in good spirits but competitive. It was difficult to differentiate the players after 5 minutes when they were covered in mud. North Manchester secret weapon was their forwards and their scrum, which was immense, They won several against the head. Bolton however played the more joined up team performance with tries from forwards and backs. A few new names on the score card this week.

Many thanks to James, Harry, Lewis and Oli who played well for North Manchester and I'm not sure where we record a score (for the opposition).
