Many thanks to all at IDNS who are have sponsored the Under 12s this season and provided the guys with an excellent new kit that received its first run out this morning.

The Under 12s entertained a Heaton Moor side that were a credit to their coaches and club and made sure that the first game in our new Raging Bull shirts was one to remember.

Heaton Moor started the scoring off and after 10 minutes or so had built an impressive 14-0 lead. The HM team looked good all around the park but their numbers 8, 9, 12 and 19 were the real picks of the side.

But Bolton were not to be overshadowed and stout defence kept any further HM attacks at bay and slowly the guys started to develop an attacking force of their own. Jordan was absolutely immense all game, despite not feeling well, and his sheer determination with a little help from the rest of the pack drove him over the line from a good 15 metres out. This summed up Jordan’s play for the whole match and he was good value for his Man of the Match medal. Jordan’s score left the half time score at 14-7 to the visitors.

The second half started well for Heaton Moor and from a great break by their left winger the centre stormed over. Unfortunately the HM kicker flirted once too often with the cross bar and his kick was unsuccessful.

Again Bolton dug deep and where stirred on by some excellent tackling by Firth and Josh and an absolute blinder by Maria that won her the Top Tackler award. Faraaz, Tom and Nat started to dominate the loose and gave the backs ample ball to run at the HM side. Josh dove over after good work all around to set up a thrilling last few minutes.

Bolton increased the pressure and HM found themselves defending their own line time after time. Matt and Harry started to come to the fore and Maria made a couple of good breaks. Joe and Firth looked dangerous on every possession and Callum who playing his first ever game made a few good contributions. Also Joey’s distribution was first class, Sam foraged for any loose ball and the whole team snapped up any potential break outs. Finally the pressure told and with just 3 seconds left on the ref’s watch Josh crashed over from close range to equal the scores. Ice Man Tom held his nerve to slot the winning conversion and welcome the final whistle.

Many thanks go to Heaton Moor for their excellent and sporting play. We look forward to the return match later in the season.

Also again thanks to IDNS for their sponsorship and the excellent and winning shirts.

Well done to one and all for an exciting Sunday mornings rugby.
