A good start to the season with a training game and a strong win against a large Rossendale side, bolstered by Jake Rimmer, Owen Lewis, Lewis Picton and Sean Carragher for a significantly large period of the game.
After a strong start by Rossendale's big side, playing down the slopes of the east pennines moors, Bolton turned the tide with a great line break by Owen Lewis to score, the first conversion by captain Tom Platt (seven different boys converted tries in total today).
It was still close with the Rossendale pack threatening to overpower Bolton, until a strong ruck by Bolton put Rossendale under pressure at the breakdown. Tackle one by Jake Rimmer smashed the opposition backwards, followed closely by successively harder hits from James Sharples and Lewis Picton, the final tackle dislodging the ball and Bolton stormed uphill to finish the opposition off.
Bolton didn't let their superiority lower the concentration and effort, with Sean Carragher, James Sharples, Owen Lewis, Lewis Picton, Ethan Greenwood, Alastair Harris, Jake Rimmer and Tom Simpson all contributing the team tries and conversions.
No man of the match today, but welcome back to Jude Hill.
