New boys come good...

The under twelves were bolstered by several new boys and a number of old boys paying in new positions. Aspull, the opponents on the day, were understrength so we agreed to play ten a side and loaned out Jake Rimmer, Alastair Harris, Jaime Lambert and Ethan Greenwood. With Jude Hill at scrum half, Ben Harrop on one wing, Joseph Cropper on the other it was definitely all change.

Despite the lack of experience in the back line, Bolton soon opened the scoring as both new wingers scored tries wide out to give Bolton the lead. The interim Aspull recruit Jake Rimmer scored two opportunistic tries, and a score by Ethan Greenwood pulled the score back to respectability.

After half time, playing with the wind and with a sloping pitch, it soon became one way traffic. A brace of tries for stand off Owen Lewis and captain Tom Platt were the thin end of the onslaught as Joseph Cropper and Myles Hope soon put the game out of sight. Final score was 13 tries to three, five for Joseph Cropper and three for Myles Hope (roughly two tries per game for Myles and three tries per game for Joseph).

Notable mentions to Owen Lewis for his all round passing and overall support play, Jude Hill for stepping in and distributing well on his scrum half debut, and Tom McNulty for another series of try saving tackles.
