Avenue & Street both do well in probably the best all round team performance so far against interesting but quality opposition

With over 24 players in the squad and a limit of 12 allowed on the pitch the u12's have split into 2 teams Avenue & Street. In order to give everyone a game (and keep vague control) we have simply been replacing everyone.

Played as 4 x 15 mins, with full changes made at 7:30 mins, to keep the lads warm!

Q1
Rossendale's website makes great claims about their tackling and the match started with both teams putting in fierce tackles but minutes into the game came a crunching tackle from Josh Bentley Hughes, sending the ball flying in the air Bolton quickly scooped it up to start their first attack. Some big drives from the Bolton forwards set up the backs to strike with Josh Bentley Hughes weaving his way across the line to score his 1st try. It was great rugby from both teams going from end to end. On seven minutes Bolton changed the whole team putting Bolton on the back foot, Rossendale took advantage of this scoring out wide. Bolton hit back with a well organised attack going through several pairs of hands ending with Josh Bentley Hughes diving over for his second try.
End of Q1 Bolton 10 Rossendale 5
Q2.
Bolton changed the whole team again to start the second quarter, It took 4 minutes of fierce running and tackling from both teams before Evan Dare broke the dead lock by driving through the Rossendale defence to score. Having elected for Bolton to kick from the restart a superb chase saw Rossendale carry the ball over their try line, Rossendale won the resulting scrum and passed the ball back into the in goal area, trouble was it didn't go to anyone in particular and Jack Good nipped in to apply downward pressure - surely the easiest try he will score this year. After 7 and a half minutes Bolton change team. Again it took a few minutes for the next 12 to settle in this time the forwards showed great spirit and determination to pave the way for Daniel McGuiness to force his way across the line and score a great try.
End of Q2 Bolton 25 Rossendale 5
Q3.
Bolton change the whole team again. 6 minutes passed with great phases of play by Bolton, forwards driving then setting up the backs passing through the line several times, Evan Dare managed to get the ball over the line only to be disallowed.7 Minute Bolton change the whole team. The fresh legs piled on the pressure for the next 6 minutes only to be held short of the line by great Rossendale defence Rossendale ripped the ball in the tackle quickly throwing the ball out wide sending the winger over for a try.
End of Q3 Bolton 25 Rossendale 10
Q4.
Winning the ball at the scrum Bolton set up Louie Ramm to cut through the Rossendale defence like a knife through butter ending in a great try. Bolton received the ball from the kick and started to set up their next attack. The forwards set up Billy Burrows to drive through the defence only to be brought down short of the line, Louie Ramm was there backing up to scoop up the ball diving over for another fine try. 7 and a half minutes Bolton change team. Again it was end to end rugby with both teams displaying some fine handling and tackling. However Louie Ramm was determined to score another hat trick and managed to drive hard resulting in him diving over again for another try. Rossendale never gave up and were rewarded with a try in the last seconds of the game. A massive thank you to the whole squad for there team spirit and effort today and to all the 50 plus spectators that came come along and cheered the boys on.
