Bolton u12's 5 v Sale u12's 40

Bolton were missing a few players and the ones that did appear seemed to be missing all knowledge of how to play. Admittedly the weather intervened last week but can you really forget your position, tactics and the rules in 14 days? Apparently the answer is 'yes'. The slick handling, well executed rehearsed moves and individual excellence had somehow disintegrated into the worst performance(s) of the season.

With only a couple of minute turn-round and compared to a well rested Sale outfit Bolton needed to be at their best right from the start - they weren't. Sale kicked-off, Bolton never got out of their own 22 and Sale's pressure eventually led to a try. Bolton then elected to 'receive' the Sale KO, Bolton never got out of their own 22 and Sale's pressure...... you get the drift, the only difference being that it took half the time.
This time Bolton kicked to Sale and after concerted pressure Louis Ramm went over for a try. That was the high point.
The next 10 mins saw both possession and territory even, the only problem was Bolton didn't score and Sale added 2 tries. HT Bolton1-4 Sale.
That was the good bit! The second half was not pretty, a visibly tiring Bolton team, were second best most of the time. Lack of continuity in attack and more missed tackles than in the rest of the season put together did not bode well. The only highlight being the multiple attempts to score in the right hand corner, the numerous 5 metre scrums and the number of reasons the referee didn't give the try. The downside being that the passage of play ended when an interception saw Sale score at the other end. Full Time Bolton 1-8 Sale
Sale were well deserved victors, a well balanced team and a threat from anywhere. Hopefully our lads will learn that they need to compete for 100% of the time they are on the pitch, far too many seemed to be thinking of how to tackle a post match pie, rather than an opponent.
