Bolton u14's thru' to Final

Due to the vagaries of the Lancs RFU Waterfall rules and this seasons appalling weather Bolton have somehow been placed in the Bowl. This is despite the fact we have beaten clubs in all 3 other competition.
Both clubs are missing a load of players - lack of game time has caused lads to look elsewhere but Didsbury OB didn't start with that many players. With a predicted maximum of 10, Jim their coach offered a walkover.
That presented a quandary, due to play away, no room at home, probably no chance of finding another fixture, we jumped at the chance of still playing on a 'mix & match' basis. With 29 in total we simply played 14 a side, with Bolton lending Bedians 4/5 players (some for the whole game, some swapped at half time).
Whilst I do know the score, that will remain with me. That wasn't the point of the game. It was simply to give 29 lads a full 50 minutes rugby, very much a rarity this season.
Many thanks to Old Bedians not just for their hospitality but for a great match, played in the right spirit and a pleasure to referee.
Our best wishes go to Daniel, who 'rolled' his ankle and was last seen setting off for Wythenshawe Hospital. Very painful as Louie Ramm and Jack Good will testify but they both played yesterday - indeed both were contenders for MoM - so you can get back to full playing capability.
We did not actually vote on MoM with loads of players standing out: Daniel McGuiness, Jacob Audley (except his goal-kicking), Matthew Cooney was everywhere, Archie Stocks brought the backs into play superbly, Liam Neasham had his best game, Luke Parry scored a brilliant try. Then there were the lads who played mainly for Bedians but my vote would go to Josh Nicholson, playing in a different position, he not only ran in 2 outstanding tries but now gives us another kicking option.
